well it's finally partially done XD! i'm adding more poses and of course i need to work on a medium and dark tone. she will have the same skin tones as coco. i'm extremely happy with my work here for once and i think it's 'cause it was really planned from start to well... where i am with it now. it's not finished as i want to continue adding poses for as long as i doll basically XD! i really wanted to doll on it first as i like to tease people and be a douche but i really couldn't wait haha. i'm also a show off nyeah nyeah. so yeah weeee...

Bebe Classic: "unloaded" (sans the weapons), "loaded" (kickbutt)

Long Winded Story: Sorry but this base is kinda sentimental to me so here we gooo... I was, of course, inspired by other dollers when I started this one as I usually am. Jaeden's mistress, Charli's nymph and the whole "Big ass dolls" phenomenon were in full swing by that time and I adored what people were doing with them so I thought "hey lemme try!" XD. Bebe originally started off as an all sitting poses base that i traced from photoshop tablet sketches of my own creation. In other words she started from scratch. A friend of mine held a contest inspired by some video game I'd never heard of called magna carta, the art was really nice so i decided to do some standing more action-y poses so i could enter. Naturally the whole "LOADED" "UNLOADED" idea manifested as an obvious result of my secret agent/babes with weaponry obsession XD. So anyway the base went from being a sketched base to an eyeballed and pixelled freehand off various anime images base, and i think it lost control XD. The later poses were definitely an improvement from the beginning when I'd sit in photoshop and randomly sketch sitting poses with no refs. however, looking back it is SO OBVIOUS i had no clue what i was doing.

The inspiration to really start again from scratch came just a few weeks ago when ~inside-gehenna asked for Bebe and i thought "oh shit she's not uploaded to DA and my site's down!" then i went back to look at them and organise for upload and went "no fucking way am i uploading these!" i decided to really dig into Bebe's roots and history XDDD and start again... from scratch/sketch... start to finish! nowadays i don't necessarily need to stare at a reference photo to sketch out my ideas but i still think it's super important to keep some stock photos/fashion mags/anatomy books lying around in case. I'll ALWAYS have to take stupid pics of my own hands anyway back to the story. i randomly decided to do the poses in themed sets basically because i like to play around with titles and lettering while sketching so much that i started scribbling shit like "RPG" and "Classical" beside the poses. so far Bebe is split into three sets starting with "Fashionista", then "RPG", and "Classical" is still yet to come. I'm really excited about the classical for some reason. Maybe it's cause it makes me feel artsy *loser* anyway that's Bebe's lovely story and the rest is history.

The Process: sketch #1: fashionistas, sketch #2: misc., sketch #3: misc., sketch #4: misc.
When it comes to other forms of art I think I enjoy seeing the design/rough process as much as if not more so than the finished product. obviously with doll bases I think the finished product is a little more essential XDD however I've always showed my base sketches in the past even though they were usually hideous, roughly done, and rushed just so I could hurry up and scan and pixel. This time I couldn't help but really overdo them so I'm happy to show them off XD I'm a chronic over-worker even when gesture drawing so yeah. wee.
